About

“Alex is no ordinary girl, in fact she might not even be a girl at all. What she is we cannot say. She’s a flutter, a tiny beast and a giant as well. She is neither human nor faerie, but something in between. She belongs to the earth, a sentinel of truth and love.”

Alex Moth is a creation of mine (Sue Hawks), but it’s almost more accurate to say that she created me. Over a year ago, she came to me in flashes and insights that still persist to this day. All of the images I’ve presented here are my transcription of Alex’s messages. Also, her communications don’t only show up as visual work; with a little help from me, Alex is writing her story and hoping I’ll get it together before the holiday season hits.

Until now, I’ve kept Alex pretty private. I hope you love her as much as I do, for there’s one thing I’ve learned, once Alex shows up in your life, things will never again be the same – in a very good way.

BIOGRAPHY:

Sue Hawks is a Chicago based artist with an advanced degree in coloring and play (aka: MA in Interdisciplinary Art). She spent most of her life trying to be an adult who makes art worthy of adult-like worries and concerns, only to discover that – after getting close to being kind of old – the work she most loves making comes from her childlike heart.
